WWE star Sami Zayn was irate after CM Punk made a dramatic return to "Monday Night Raw" in Chicago and defeated him for the undisputed championship.

Zayn was supposed to have a match with Cody Rhodes before Gunther took out the "American Nightmare" when the show began. Zayn thought he was going to have an off night before he was told there was a replacement for Rhodes. Punk made his entrance to a raucous crowd and defeated Zayn in the main event.

As Zayn walked to the backstage area, he cut an emotional promo.

"I have a question," Zayn began. "How is it that after 24 years after crawling and inching for every little inch to get the WWE championship, after I finally get it, nine days after I get it, that piece of s--- can walk back in here after not being here for months, for months, and waltz right in and get it? Get a chance? That mother----er. He has no business. No business."

Zayn broke down in tears as he came to the realization that his short title run was finished.

Rhodes booked himself a triple-threat match at Night of Champions to prove that he was better than both Zayn and Gunther. He miscalculated Zayn’s wrestling aptitude and was pinned clean at the premium live event.

Rhodes climbed back to the No. 1 contender spot last week on "Friday Night SmackDown" when he defeated Jey Uso. But he didn’t get a chance to re-enter the match due to Gunther’s beatdown.
