Rob Rausch for an all-star season of The Traitors? Meh, he’s not first in line.
Talking with DECIDER after winning The Traitors Season 4 by himself, blindsiding his Faithful companion Maura Higgins and voting out fellow Traitor Eric Nam at the last second, the Love Island USA expressed hesitation at the idea of going back to Scotland any time soon.
“I don’t know about that, I don’t I don’t think I would do that,” Rob said with a laugh. “I mean, I feel like I had a great experience and I had the literal best possible outcome for a Traitor.”
He’s not wrong. After starting the season alongside two Real Housewives, Candiace Dillard Bassett and Lisa Rinna, in the turret, Rausch was able to manipulate the game in his favor episode after episode, removing or helping to remove anyone who got in his way — Candiace and Lisa included — and managing to keep his name out of the mouths of the Faithfuls.
In fact, while he was a Traitor in the game from the very start — something Maura could not believe during the final moments of the season — Rob managed to never receive a vote to banish him from a single Faithful throughout the season. The only person who voted for him in this season was Candiace, who initially called her vote a “throwaway” and only later tried to put the Faithful on his scent.
Alas, it did not work as he managed to skate by until the very end when Johnny Weir finally caught on to his deception. At that point, however, it was too late and Rob already had the votes to make it to the end with only five total players in the game. It was a chess game to the very end, Rob told DECIDER, and one that he’s not so keen on revisiting.
“I don’t think [so],” Rob explained, adding of why he would want to sit out another season of the show, “What am I going to get out of that? You know, I got a perfect record.”
As for his thoughts on potentially hopping over to another show, a la Season 3 winner Dylan Efron and Dancing With the Stars, Rob said he is not ruling anything out yet, but he also doesn’t have any immediate plans to film another reality competition series. As he explains, his blood pressure is still coming down from the last one.
“I’m not going to say it’s impossible, but I also wouldn’t count on it. You know, I don’t know, I don’t know, my biggest aspiration in life is just to be happy. And this kind of stuff really stresses me out, if I’m being completely honest with you,” he shared.
In January, DWTS pro Ezra Sosa actually shouted out the snake wrangler from Alabama during a live show in New York City, holding up a sign reading “Rob Rausch for DWTS,” which made fans go wild. Since then, viewers of both shows have been pleading on social media for Rob to consider putting on some ballroom shoes and try his hand at another competition. It’s not currently the plan, but Rob says plans can change.
“We’ll see. If it seems worth it, we’ll do it, but I don’t know,” he said. Guess this one will just be a wait-and-see situation.
