Last week we allowed Mets fans a six-month head start on Festivus, the annual airing of grievances made popular by Frank Costanza. And there were grievances aplenty. And, sad to say, things haven’t gotten a lot better in the Land of Mets since those laments were listed.
The Mets seem to be doing their best to drive fans away. A few of the correspondents suggested the only way to right the wrongs of the current administration is to stay away, and that seemed like a terrific idea except that the day that column aired, 38,770 people watched the Mets-Phillies game, on a Sunday night no less. That’s 93 percent capacity (and the Mets responded nobly, blowing the game late).
