Wang Fuk Court administrator to hold crucial owners’ meeting on July 19

Hop On arranges four venues across Hong Kong to host attendees after months of delays

2-MIN READ2-MIN ListenConnor MycroftPublished: 4:51pm, 4 Jul 2026Updated: 4:54pm, 4 Jul 2026The government-appointed administrator of Hong Kong’s fire-ravaged Wang Fuk Court will hold an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) with owners of the flats on July 19, ending months of delays.

In a notice issued on Saturday, Hop On Management Company said it would host the meeting simultaneously via live broadcast across four locations for owners of Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po – the site of Hong Kong’s deadliest blaze in decades, which killed 168 people and displaced nearly 5,000.

The four locations include community centres in Tai Po, Tin Shui Wai, Kai Tak and Wah Kwai in the Southern district.

“As owners are currently residing in different districts, Hop On has arranged the above meeting venues at various locations for owners to choose from, so as to facilitate attendance at their convenience,” it said.

Among the items listed on the meeting agenda are reports on the progress of the handover with former incorporated owners and the latest situation with Wang Chi House – the only residential block spared from the blaze.

The meeting will also include reports on the initiation of refunds of the remaining balance of the major repair fund to all owners, and the financial position of the estate and the major renovation project.

“The above agenda items have been finalised, having regard to matters relating to the common interests of owners and issues concerning the control, management and administration of the common parts of the estate,” the administrator said.
