The ruler, somewhat jarringly, forfeited the world championship opportunity he earned by defeating Jey Uso to become King of the Ring at Night of Champions to chase down the bigger SummerSlam prize of being the first person to beat Brock Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell and put a button in their trilogy.

There has been some criticism of this going around as to why the King of the Ring final was not Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker or why WWE didn’t just make the stipulation that the winner could just get a title shot whenever he pleased.
