And that doesn’t even count or consider all the poor fans who witnessed the Yankees’ worst seven-game stretch — or is it stench? — of offense and overall play, maybe in their mostly storied history.
Boone eventually estimated the clubhouse sick bay, believed to be caused by food poisoning, to be “seven or eight” deep, and that certainly didn’t help this struggling squad. But no one looks especially healthy when they’re hitting like this.

Boone referred to the last week as “terrible,” then later downgraded it to “awful.”
