What Happened
Deputy Sheriff Timothy Wells drowned in the Missouri River near Ft. Peck, Montana, during a training dive which involved filming sturgeon and paddlefish. He was diving with six other rescue divers but failed to surface. The other divers immediately began to search for him but were unable to locate him. Deputy Wells was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and had served with the Williams County Sheriff's Department for 4-1/2 years.
