Admiral Thomas H Moorer served the United States Navy for 41 years. Thomas served in World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the Cold War. Thomas was married to Carrie Moorer. Thomas was 91 years old.
What Happened
Naval Academy 1933. He was flying from Ford Island on the morning of 7 December 1941, and was shot down off Australia in 1942 and picked up. He commanded both the Pacific and the Atlantic Fleets, the only man ever to hold both, then Chief of Naval Operations and the seventh Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 1970 to 1974.
