Police Officer Steve Rodriguez died as the result of cancer that he developed following his assignment to the search and recovery efforts at the World Trade Center site following the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks.
Officer Rodriguez was a United States Navy veteran. He had served with the New York City Police Department assigned to Transit District 4, the 13th Precinct, and the Highway Patrol Unit #3 based in Queens County.
