What Happened
Sergeant Stacy Levay died after being struck in the head by a suspect wielding a metal pipe during a robbery on Andersen AFB, Guam. He was ambushed and attacked by four suspects as he provided an escort to the base commissary's night clerk who was preparing to deposit $74,000 at the base bank. Sergeant Levay succumbed to his wounds several days following the assault. Two suspects were apprehended and sentenced to life in prison for Sergeant Levay's murder. The mastermind of the robbery also served with the U.S. Air Force Security Police. Sergeant Levay was assigned to the 633rd Security Police Squadron with the United States Air Force. The incident occurred on Sergeant Levay's 29th birthday.
