What Happened
Police Officer Robert Taylor was killed in a motorcycle crash while responding to a robbery call.
He and another motorcycle officer, who was also responding to the same call, collided at the intersection of Marshall Street and Susquehanna Avenue. Officer Taylor succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital. The other officer suffered serious injuries and recovered.
Officer Taylor was a United States Marine Corps veteran and had served with the Philadelphia Police Department for less than two years and previously served with the Pennsylvania State Highway Patrol for six years.
