What Happened
Senior Patrol Agent Rene Garza suffered a fatal heart attack while on horseback patrol in Skeleton Canyon, New Mexico.
He had served with the United States Border Patrol for 24 years and had been stationed at the Lordsburg, New Mexico, station for his entire career.

On today, the 25th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country-not just a Border Patrol Agent but also when you served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
