Kevin W. Yokum

Killed at the Pentagon on the morning of 11 September 2001, when American Airlines flight 77 struck the western face of the building at 9:37. A hundred and twenty-five people inside and fifty-nine aboard the aircraft were killed.

He grew up at Lake Charles and finished at LaGrange High School, where his classmates liked him and remembered him at a recent reunion. His father said he liked sports a great deal, basketball particularly - that he would pick out players and work out who would go in the first round of the draft.

He joined the Navy straight out of school, was stationed at San Diego and travelled widely, and came home to Louisiana once or twice a year. He had been at the Pentagon three years and lived nearby in Maryland.

His father said: I am so proud of him, especially since he did serve his country. He was a young man who was strong of character, honest, and one who always wanted to encourage and help other people.
