What Happened
Detective Schiller died as a result of exposure to a methamphetamine laboratory which he had been investigating for several months. Detective Schiller and members of the Drug Task Force had set up their investigation next door to the illegal laboratory and conducted surveillance for six months before Detective Schiller was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. He died six months after the diagnoses and the coroner confirmed his death was a direct result of the chemicals found in the methamphetamine laboratory.
