What Happened
Police Officer John Clancy succumbed to injuries sustained four days earlier when his police motorcycle collided with a drunk driver on Aurora Avenue near Galer Street. The driver of the other vehicle was charged with drunken and reckless driving. Officer Clancy was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of WWII and had served with the Seattle Police Department for three years.
