Jeramy Dobkins

Jeramy was a man of dedication and service to his country not only as a law enforcement officer, but as a member of the Army National Guard. He was well known for his motto “It’s your job to make sure your partner goes home at night.” His professional achievements were numerous, as a School Resource Officer (SRO) he created a QR code allowing students to anonymously access Project Fortify Florida. He was a recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Illinois Dept. of Transportation DUI Safety award, the Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists Top Performer Award, and the Jeremy Chambers Top Gun Award. Jeramy was a certified defensive tactics instructor, certified hostage negotiator, and Florida general instructor for agency and recruits, among many other roles. He was also a featured speaker on the Excellence in Training podcast. Devoted to the safety and well-being of others, Jeramy was very passionate about bringing national awareness to the effects of PTSD in law enforcement and breaking the stigma within the profession. His hope was to develop a model policy for agencies to offer, in hopes of reducing the number of police suicides. Despite his passion for raising awareness and seeking help, Jeramy became a victim of the battle he fought. When he wasn’t working, Jeramy enjoyed working on cars, spending time on the lake with his family, playing golf, and listening to live music. Jeramy’s family was his anchor, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He was a fierce protector of his sister and found joy in participating in plays with his brother. Boating and tubing at the lake were sources of many happy memories for the brothers and the rest of the family. Being an uncle was a role that also brought immense joy to Jeramy’s life. His nieces and nephews held a special place in his heart. The love of Jeramy’s life was Stephanie. From the first moment they met, they knew they were soulmates. They enjoyed coffee dates, spending hours at the arcade, dinners on the beach, browsing at hardware stores, and really anything together. He was also an amazing dad to his daughter, Brianna. He loved helping her with schoolwork and coaching her in softball. He will be forever missed by them and his memory will always be cherished.
