What Happened
Trooper James Conrad was killed when a tractor-trailer struck his patrol car at 6:40 a.m. Trooper Conrad was traveling on Route 15, two miles north of Bath, when the tractor-trailer hit him head-on. He died instantly. The driver was cited for failure to yield and operating a vehicle with unsafe tires. Trooper Conrad was a United States Marine Corps and Air Force veteran and served with the New York State Police for four years.
Survivors
He was survived by his wife and five children.
