What Happened
Officer Henry Jones was shot and killed by one of two men he surprised burglarizing an apartment on Skipper Place, NW. Both suspects, both 22, were apprehended. On March 1, 1974, the killer, was convicted of murder, three counts of burglary, and sentenced to life plus 64 years. The other suspect was sentenced to 10 years. Officer Jones was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
