Esteban Velasquez

Deputy Velasquez suffered a fatal heart attack shortly after he and his partner struggled with a suspect. They were attempting to arrest a person on a mental illness warrant. After the heart attack, he was transported to Parkland Hospital, where he suffered a second heart attack two days later and died. Deputy Velasquez had served with the agency for 15 years.

He was survived by his wife and son.
