Biography
One year later, we honor and remember Sgt. Daryl Bourgeois, who died by suicide on October 30, 2023, at the age of 41, after 11 years of service with the Boston University Police Department. Sgt. Bourgeois left behind his cherished daughters, Sophia and Emily, and his beloved wife of 13 years, Andrea Bourgeois. He was a resident of Milford, MA, formerly of Franklin, MA During his 11-year tenure at BUPD, Sgt. Bourgeois was recognized for his bravery with the Medal of Valor and a Life Saving Award. His law enforcement career also included time with Uxbridge Police, California State University Police, and Ocean City Maryland Police. Sgt. Bourgeois honorably served in the Navy as an FMF Corpsman with the 1st Medical Battalion, Bravo Company at Camp Pendleton and 1st Battalion 25th Marines, HQ Company at Fort Devens. He bravely deployed to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was a graduate of Bishop Feehan High School, the University of Hartford, and the MBTA Transit Police Academy.
