What Happened
Corporal Dale Wallis succumbed to injuries sustained two days earlier when he was struck by a vehicle while conducting a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 62 in Rogers, Arkansas. He and another officer had stopped a commercial vehicle to conduct a routine inspection. Corporal Wallis was standing on the highway-side of the truck when his head was struck by the rearview mirror of a passing pickup truck. He was transported to Washington Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries. Corporal Wallis was a WWII veteran and had served with the Arkansas Highway Police for 12 years.
Survivors
He was survived by his wife, two daughters, five grandchildren, mother, and sister.
