What Happened
Sergeant Clarence Miller was killed in an automobile crash on US 171 south of Many in Sabine Parish, 12 minutes before the end of his shift. A truck traveling in the wrong direction on the roadway struck his patrol car head-on. The driver of the other vehicle was convicted of reckless driving and negligent homicide. Sergeant Miller was a United States Army Korean War veteran and had served with the Louisiana State Police for 24 years, assigned to Troop H.
Survivors
He was survived by his wife, two sons, a daughter, father, four sisters, and two brothers.
