What Happened
Corporal Carlen Stone was killed in a helicopter accident while on a medivac mission. Corporal Stone was transporting a heart patient and a paramedic when he reported he was making an emergency landing due to ice. The helicopter was found three days later on Cheat Mountain. All three were killed in the accident. Corporal Stone was a United States Air Force veteran and had served with the West Virginia State Police for 4 years. He was survived by his wife and two sons. Corporal Stone is buried in Middle Island Cemetery in New Milton, Doddridge County, West Virginia.
