What Happened
Trooper Calvin Jones was killed in an automobile crash on M-52 in Lenawee County during a pursuit. At 3:12 p.m., Trooper Jones and his partner were driving south on M-52, attempting to pull over a motorcycle for speeding. As he tried to pass a truck, another truck traveling on Yankee Road drove across M-52. Trooper Jones was unable to stop and collided with the water truck. His partner suffered serious injuries but recovered. The driver of the truck was not injured. Trooper Jones was a military veteran and had served with the Michigan State Police for six years.
Survivors
He was survived by his wife, a daughter, his mother, and a brother.
