Admiral Arthur William Radford served the United States Navy for 41 years. Arthur served in World War I, World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Arthur was 77 years old.

Naval Academy 1916. A naval aviator who commanded carrier task groups in the central Pacific, at Tarawa and the Marshalls. Commander in Chief Pacific, then the second Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 1953 to 1957 - the first chairman to serve a full term under the reorganised post.
