What Happened
Captain Albert Teeters was accidentally shot and killed by a police lieutenant in the shooting range in the basement of the Frankstown Avenue police station.

The lieutenant's revolver had misfired during target practice. As he worked to clear the round Captain Teeters walked towards the target to view the previous shots. The revolver suddenly fired and the round struck Captain Teeters, fatally wounding him.

Captain Teeters was a veteran of the Pennsylvania National Guard and had served with the Pittsburgh Police Department for 29 years.

On today, the 120th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for your Community but for our Country as well when you served with the Pennsylvania National Guard.
