What Happened

בנם-יחידם של שלומית ויהודה, נולד ביום ח' באב תרפ"ט (14.8.1929) בעיר דבורנה, גליציה. בן שלוש וחצי היה כשעלה יחד עם הוריו לארץ-ישראל. המשפחה התיישבה בחיפה ואהרן סיים את בית-הספר בקרית מוצקין. בהיותו נער כשרוני השלים בפרק זמן קצר, ובכוחות עצמו, את שתי הכיתות הגבוהות של בית-הספר התיכון ועמד בבחינת-הבגרות הממשלתית. בן 14 שנים הצטרף לשורות ה"הגנה" ומיד עם תום לימודיו התגייס לחיל-הנוטרים. שנתיים שירת כנוטר והגיע לדרגת קורפורל (רב"ט). עם פרוץ מלחמת-העצמאות התנדב מיד לשירות, כמ"כ בחטיבת "כרמלי". הוא לא נרתע מפני הסכנה וחש לכל מקום שבו יוכל להיות לעזר. לבקשתו הועבר לפלוגה לוחמת, עוד לפני פירוק חיל-הנוטרים ולחם ברמת יוחנן, בשחרור חיפה, בכיבוש עכו ובחזית משמר הירדן. ביום ג' בסיוון תש"ח (10.6.1948) נפל ברמות נפתלי, כשהגן עם אנשיו על היישוב המותקף. משנוכח כי טבעת הכיתור עומדת להיסגר עליו ועל חבריו, פקד על מחצית קבוצתו לסגת ועם המחצית השניה חיפה על הנסוגים עד שנהרג. נקבר ברמות-נפתלי. ביום כ"ז באדר תש"י (16.3.1950) הועבר למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בחיפה.
