Turai Eliyahu Manovela served in the Israel Defense Forces. Eliyahu served with the Infantry. Eliyahu was 21 years old.
בן שלמה ועליזה. נולד בפורים תרפ"ח (6.3.1928) בחלב שבסוריה. בגיל שלוש התחיל לומד בבית "תלמוד-תורה" והמשיך בלימודיו עד עלותו לארץ עם הוריו. את רוב הדרך עברו ברגל והגיעו לארץ דרך עבר-הירדן בשנת 1942. עוד בנעוריו, מייד בהגיעו לארץ, רצה לעבוד כדי לתמוך במשפחה. עבד בבית-החרושת וגם ב"זיפזיף" על שפת-הים. בשנת 1944 התגייס לאצ"ל ומילא את כל התפקידים שהוטלו עליו במרץ על-אנושי מתוך שאיפה, כדבריו, לנקום את נקמת כל קרבנות-העם ולשם כיבוש הארץ כולה. עם פירוק-המחתרת תפס את מקומו בצבא וביום ט' בכסלו תש"י (30.11.1949) נפצע בשעת מילוי תפקידו ומת מפצעיו. הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בנחלת-יצחק.
