Turai Yehezkel-Haim Nahum served in the Israel Defense Forces. Yehezkel-Haim served with the Infantry. Yehezkel-Haim served in the War of Independence. Yehezkel-Haim was 27 years old.

What Happened

בן עזיזה ואברהם-שאול, נולד ביום ב' באדר א' תרפ"א (10.2.1921) בבגדד, בירת עיראק. בשנת 1923, בהיותו בן שנתיים, עלו הוריו לארץ. יחזקאל-חיים גדל בירושלים, סיים שש כיתות בית-ספר יסודי ונעשה שוליה של קצב, כדי לעזור להוריו. קיננה בו שאיפה עזה ללימודים והוא הצליח לקנות לו ידיעות על-ידי השתלמות עצמית. זמן-מה עבר לעבודה אחרת, כקבלן בשכונה ליד פתח תקווה, ואחרי-כן עבד כנגר. לבסוף חזר אל מלאכתו הקודמת. היה בחור שתקן, עובד בהתמדה ומקדיש את מרצו לזולת, להורים ולכלל. יחזקאל-חיים היה חבר ה"הגנה" והועסק כחובש, אבל השתוקק לשירות קרבי. לשם כך עבר מה"הגנה" למחתרת אצ"ל (בכינוי "חיים") ויצא במסגרתה לפעולות. באחרונה השתתף בקרב מלחה ושם נפל ביום ח' בתמוז תש"ח (15.7.1948). נקבר בשייח'-באדר א'. ביום כ"ג בניסן תש"י (10.4.1950) הועבר למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בהר-הרצל בירושלים.
