Rav Samal Rishon Rauf Arbili served with the Border Patrol Police. Rauf served in the South Lebanon Security Zone. Rauf was 50 years old.
בן מסעודה ומכלוף. ראוף נולד בג' בטבת תרצ"ג (1.1.1933) בעיראק, בן למשפחה בת עשר נפשות. גדל בעיראק. ראוף עלה לארץ בשנת 1951. שהה זמן מה בבת ים ו במסגרת עליית הנוער הגיע לקבוצת יבנה ונשאר בה עד לגיוסו לשירות סדיר בצה"ל במרץ 1952. בדצמבר 1956 גויס ראוף למשמר הגבול לשירות קבע, ושירת כלוחם עד יום מותו. במרץ 1957 הוא הוצב במג"ב ראש העין, פלוגה ה' באייר . ב-1961 נמנה על סגל שומרי אייכמן. בין 1967 ל-1970 היה ראוף מבצעי בפלוגות ד', ב', י"א. בשנת 75' שימש אפסנאי. ראוף סיים קורס חובשים קרביים ביחידת ימ"מ. ראוף היה חובב דייג, טניס, בישול, שחייה, ספורט. הוא אהב מאוד את אשתו, אהב את הבריות, היה חייכן, עזר תמיד לכולם. רב-סמל ראשון ראוף נפל בעת שירותו ביום י"ג בשבט תשמ"ג (27.1.1983). בן חמישים בנפלו. הוא נטמן בבית העלמין בחולון. הותיר אישה. זכרו של ראוף מונצח ב אנדרטת ימ"מ, בא"ר, בעירון.
