בן יוסף ופרחה. נולד בשנת תש"ח (1948) בעירק. בשנת 1951 עלתה המשפחה לארץ. ציון למד בבית-הספר היסודי על-שם בן-צבי אשר בקרית-עקרון. בימים ההם אהב לעבוד במשתלה ולטפל בכל מיני שתילים או צמחים. קריאה היתה אהובה עליו - ובייחוד אהב את סיפורי "אלף לילה ולילה" - ועד שעה מאוחרת בלילה היה שקוע בקריאה. לאחר-מכן, אחרי סיומו את לימודיו היסודיים, למד בבית-ספר תיכון מקצועי. היה חבר בתנועת "הנוער העובד והלומד" ואחר- כך היה בגדנ"ע. נטה לספורט, התאמן בהרמת משקלות ובקליעה למטרה; כן אהב לשחק בכדורגל. במאי 1966 גויס לצה"ל והוצב לחיל-ההנדסה ושם נשלח לקורס מ"כ. בעוד הוא בשירות-החובה, מצא את מותו ביום כ"ג באדר תשכ"ט (13.3.1969) בין אל-עריש לקנטרה; זה היה בשעת מילוי תפקידו. עם שחרורו עמד לקחת לו לאשה את חברת-נעוריו. הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי ברחובות.
