Turai Yaakov Bakar served in the Israel Defense Forces. Yaakov served with the Armored Corps. Yaakov served in the First Lebanon War. Yaakov was 19 years old.

What Happened

בן בלה ומשה, נולד ביום כ' בסיוון תשכ"ב (22.6.1962) למשפחה חקלאית בראשון-לציון. יעקב סיים את בית-הספר היסודי "חביב" בראשון-לציון, והמשיך את לימודיו בבית-ספר "עמל" ברחובות. יעקב היה נער אהוב על חבריו, השתתף בארגון פעילויות חברתיות, אהב לשחק כדורסל והתמסר לעזרה לזולת. הוא גם התנדב למשמר האזרחי. לפני שהתגייס לצה"ל עזר יעקב לאביו בעבודתו החקלאית, וקיווה להמשיך לעבוד עם אביו כשיסיים את שירותו בצה"ל. בשנת 1980 התגייס יעקב לצה"ל ושירת בחיל-השריון. כשפרצה מלחמת שלום הגליל, הוא היה עם הכוח שהסתער ראשון על עמדות האויב. ביום ט"ו בסיוון תשמ"ב (6.6.1982), ביום הראשון של המלחמה, היה יעקב בטנק שלו במבואות צור. הוא נכנס למארב, נפגע ונהרג. בן 20 שנים הוא היה בנופלו. יעקב הובא למנוחות בבית-הקברות הצבאי בראשון לציון. הוא השאיר אחריו הורים ושלוש אחיות. שר הביטחון אריאל שרון כתב למשפחתו: "הוא היה חייל מצוין, בעל תפיסה מהירה, בעל יכולת ביטוי ואהוד על חבריו".
