Turai Avraham Alfer served in the Israel Defense Forces. Avraham served with the Infantry. Avraham served in the War of Independence. Avraham was 19 years old.
בן רוזה ואייזיק, נולד ביום כ"ט באייר תרפ"ט (8.6.1929) בצפון רומניה. לאחר שנתנסה בתלאות מלחמת-העולם השנייה ובנדודים במחנות-מעצר ובמחנות-עקורים הגיע לארץ-ישראל בראשית שנת תש"ו במסגרת "עליית-הנוער" וקיבל את חינוכו במוסד "נווה- עמיאל" שליד שדה-יעקב. השתתף בקורס מ"כים בגדנ"ע ואחר-כך ריכז את האימונים במוסד בשנים 1946-1947. עבר לשדה-אליהו ועבד במשק ומשם התגייס ושירת בחטיבת "יפתח", סיים קורס מ"מים והשתתף בקרבות. לקראת ההפוגה הראשונה הורדה חטיבת "יפתח" לאזור המרכז ונטלה חלק בלחימה באזור לטרון. עם חידוש הלחימה בתום ההפוגה הראשונה השתתפה החטיבה במבצע "דני" ובליל 17-18 ביולי 48, לקראת תחילת ההפוגה השניה, תפס גדוד "העמק" את שילתא ומשלט בחלקו המזרחי של רכס קוריקור כדי לאיים על אגפו של מערך הלגיון בלטרון. עם בוקר התברר כי כוח לגיון מחזיק בחלקו המערבי, השולט, של הרכס. האויב תקף את הכוח במשלט משני כיוונים בסיוע שריוניות וזה נאלץ לסגת. בנסיגה הקשה בשטח פתוח הנתון לאש צולבת נפלו רבים מהלוחמים. בקרב זה נפל, ביום י"א בתמוז תש"ח (18.7.1948). ביום י"א באדר תש"י (28.2.1950) הועבר למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בהר- הרצל בירושלים.
