Samal Armond Levi served in the Israel Defense Forces. Armond served with the Engineering corps. Armond served in the Six-Day War.

What Happened

בן יעקב ולידיה. נולד בשנת תרצ"ד (1934) בעיר טוניס אשר בטוניסיה. סיים את לימודיו בבית ספר יסודי ושנתיים בבית ספר תיכון בטוניס. עבד כמנהל חשבונות בחוץ לארץ ולאחר מכן עלה לארץ בשנת 1956. היה מנהל עבודה במפעל חרושתי גדול. בפברואר 1958 גויס לצה"ל וגמר את שירותו הסדיר בהגיעו לדרגת סמל. היה נקרא למלא את חובתו בשירות מילואים מפעם לפעם וכן היה גם בפרוץ מלחמת ששת הימים, אשר בה השתתף - ובשעה שחילץ את הפצועים תחת אש מדוייקת ויעילה נפל מפגיעה ישירה של תותח טנק שפגע בזחל"ם של מפקד המחלקה שלו כאשר שימש כמפקד כיתת החוד בתנועה לחילוץ נפגעים; זה היה ביום השני לקרבות, הוא כ"ז באייר תשכ"ז (6.6.1967) למרגלות רכסי קבטיה ליד ג'נין. הניח אשה וילדה שלא מלאה לה שנה בנפול אביה. הובא לקבורה בבית הקברות הצבאי בעפולה ולאחר זמן הועבר למנוחת עולמים בבית הקברות הצבאי בקרית שאול. בחוברת שהוציאה פלוגת ההנדסה של עוצבת "ברק" הונצח שמו. כמה עמודים הוקדשו לו בחוברת שהופיעה מטעם עיריית נהריה לזכר הבנים שנפלו במערכה.
