Turai Yakkov Eizenberg served in the Israel Defense Forces. Yakkov served with the Infantry. Yakkov served in the War of Independence. Yakkov was 25 years old.
בן אהובה ושמואל-חיים, נולד ביום א' בשבט תרפ"ג (18.1.1923) בעיר ווארשה, בירת פולין, במשפחה שכמה מאנשיה עונו ונרצחו בידי פורעים. באותה שנה עלתה המשפחה לארץ, והשתקעה בחדרה, בה סיים יעקב בית-ספר עממי. בנעוריו הצטרף לתנועת "השומר הצעיר", עמד להצטרף לקיבוץ בית-אלפא ואף הכין את עצמו לכך בהכשרה חקלאית. אך בגלל הצורך לעזור להורים ויתר על כך ועבד כבנאי בחדרה, ונשאר נאמן לתנועתו ול"הסתדרות". כחבר ה"הגנה" עבר סדרות אימונים וזמן-מה שירת בנוטרות. יעקב נשא אישה ונולדה לו בת. במלחמת-העצמאות התאמן בחבלה, שירת בחי"ש של נפת נפתלי ואחר-כך באחד הגדודים הסדירים בחטיבת "אלכסנדרוני". בין השאר, השתתף בכיבוש טנטורה, קניר וקאקון ובהגנת מענית. ביום ד' בתשרי תש"ט (7.10.1948), נפל בשעת מילוי תפקידו כחבלן ליד כפר גליקסון והובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בחדרה.
