בן מסעוד ושמחה. נולד ביום י"ד בתמוז תרפ"ז (14.7.1927) בעיר מוגדיר אשר במרוקו. בגיל ט"ו עבר עם משפחתו לקזבלנקה ושם למד בבית-הספר היסודי "כל ישראל חברים" עד שסיים את לימודיו בו. בצאתו משם למד את מקצוע-הסנדלרות אשר ממנו התפרנס. היה מקובל על חבריו וסביבתו ופעיל מאד בארגון הציוני לעליית יהודי-עירו לארץ. עם הכרזת העצמאות של מדינת-ישראל אמר גם הוא לעלות לארץ ולתת את ידו במאבק נגד אויבינו במלחמת-הקוממיות. ממשלת-מרוקו אמנם אסרה על יציאת יהודיה מתחומיה, אך הוא לא שם לב לאיסור זה, ולמרות התנגדותם של הוריו עלה לארץ בשנת 1948. חברו-לעליה היה יצחק (ז'ק) בוג'ו; אתו עלה, לצדו לחם ועמו נפל - בשעת מילוי תפקידו ביום א' בסיון תש"ט (29.5.1949) והובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בנחלת-יצחק. שני החברים קבורים זה ליד זה.
