Rav Samal Yehezkel Mizrahi served in the Israeli Navy. Yehezkel served aboard INS Dakar. Yehezkel served in the War of Attrition. Yehezkel was 25 years old.

What Happened

בן דויד ושמחה. נולד ביום כ"ג בטבת תש"ג (31.12.1942) בפתח- תקוה. את לימודיו היסודיים סיים בבית-הספר "גורדון" במקום ולאחר-מכן המשיך ללמוד בבית-הספר המקצועי "עמל". לצה"ל גויס באוקטובר 1960 וצורף לחיל-הים. יחזקאל התנדב לשירות בצוללות, היה צוללן מצויין, בעל נסיון וידע רב. הוא יצא לאנגליה וצורף לצוות הצוללת "דקר", בה שימש בתפקיד מרכזי. אך בהיות הצוללת בנתיב הים גיברלטר נותק עמה הקשר ושוב לא נתחדש. זה היה ביום כ"ד בטבת תשכ"ח (25.1.1968). הרבנות הצבאית הראשית קבעה, כי תאריך-פטירתו של יחזקאל, בשעת מילוי תפקידו יחד עם השאר, הוא יום כ"ט בטבת תשכ"ח (30.1.1968). הניח אשה ושני ילדים. כיון שיחזקאל נמנה עם חברי-הצוות הנעדרים הוצבה לו מצבת-זיכרון בתוך האנדרטה לזכר אנשי "דקר" בבית-הקברות הצבאי שעל הר-הרצל בירושלים. ביום י"ג בסיוון תשנ"ט (28.5.1999), בתום שנים של חיפושים, נמצאה הצוללת אח"י "דקר" על קרקעית הים התיכון, בעומק 2900 מ' בנתיב הפלגתה המתוכנן ובמרחק 250 מייל מנמל חיפה. החלל הינו מקל''ן- חלל שמקום קבורתו לא נודע.
