בן נחמה ושמעון, נולד בשנת 1932 בפתח תקווה וגדל בשכונת מחנה יהודה. הוא סיים את בית-הספר העממי המקומי והתחיל לעבוד בפרדסים, בקטיף ובאריזה. היה חבר "הנוער העובד" ופעיל בסניף המקומי. מדריכיו ראו בו נער מוכשר ומבטיח רבות, מפותח למעלה מגילו והקדים להתבגר. הצטיין ברוח חברית וקיים בשמחה כל משימה שהוטלה עליו. לאחר פרוץ מלחמת-העצמאות התנדב ושירת בחטיבת "אלכסנדרוני". יוסף נפל בוואדי ערה ביום א' באייר תש"ח (10.5.1948) והוא בן 16. הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בפתח תקווה.
