בנם של יחיא ושרה. דן נולד בישראל, במושב אשתאול, בי"ט בתמוז תשי"א (23.7.1951). הוא למד בבית הספר היסודי בנס ציונה ובתיכון "עמל רחובות", במגמת מקצועות. לאחר לימודיו התנדב לפעילות בקיבוץ בצפון למשך מספר חודשים. דן היה בן לתפארת, מסור מאוד למשפחתו, שיתף אותם בכל התלבטויותיו והחלטותיו. הוא היה מקובל מאוד בחברה, בין חברים ושכנים, היה פעיל מאוד בשכונה ו עזרתו לזקנים ולמבוגרים ממנו הייתה בראש מעייניו. ב-19.8.1969 התגייס דן לשירות סדיר במשמר הגבול. ביום י"ב באדר א' תש"ל (18.2.1970) נהרג שוטר חובה דן בתאונת דרכים באזור ירושלים, בעת פעילות מבצעית. בן שמונה-עשרה בנפלו. הוא נטמן בחלקה הצבאית בבית העלמין בנס ציונה.
