Rav Samal Mitkadem David Blan served with the Israel Police. David served in the First Intifada and the South Lebanon Security Zone. David was 30 years old.
בן מרים ואברהם. דוד נולד בחיפה בט"ז בניסן תשי"ט (24.4.1959) . הוא סיים בהצלחה את בית הספר לקציני ים בעכו במגמת מכניקה, ושירת בחיל הים כמכונאי. לאחר סיום שירותו הצבאי התגייס דוד למשטרת ישראל, למשמר החופים שבנמל חיפה, ושירת שם כמכונאי ספינה כעשר שנים. במהלך שירותו המשטרתי חלה דוד במחלה ממארת, שקיבל בשל עבודתו בים כשהוא חשוף לשמש. מצבו הלך והתדרדר עד אשר לאחר שנה של מאבק נפטר ביום י"ז בסיוון תשמ"ט (20.6.1989). רב-סמל מתקדם דוד היה בן שלושים בנפלו. הוא נטמן בבית העלמין בקריית אתא. השאיר אחריו אישה ושתי בנות, הורים ואחות. דוד הונצח בכמה מקומות: בגלעד לזכר הבוגרים בבית הספר לקציני ים עכו ובפינת זיכרון בספריה; בחדר הנצחה ביד לבנים בקריית אתא; בגלעד שבגן הזיכרון בקריית אתא; בגלעד לזכר הנופלים בבית הספר לשוטרים בשפרעם; בלוח זיכרון בבית הכנסת "גיבורי ישראל" ברחוב המייסדים בקריית אתא; בלוח זיכרון לנופלים בבית הכנסת במרחב חיפה.
