בן עישה-אליזה ומשה. יעיש נולד במרוקו בי"ח בתמוז תרצ"ד (1.7.1934). בשנת 1954 עלה יעיש עם משפחתו לארץ והיה המפרנס העיקרי במשפחה, בעקבות מות אביו בטרם עלייתם. המשפחה התגוררה במושב רוויה שבעמק בית שאן. לאחר שנשא יעיש את בחירת ליבו פורטונה לאישה הם התגוררו יחדיו במושב יגל שבמרכז הארץ, שם נולדו תשעת ילדיהם. יעיש היה אדם אהוב, ישר וצנוע, בעל חזון וראייה רחבה. הוא חינך את ילדיו לאהבת הארץ ולתרבות נאותה. יעיש התגייס למשמר הגבול בתאריך 27.12.1968 ושירת במסירות. ביום י"ב בניסן תש"מ (29.3.1980) נפל סמל שני יעיש בעת שירותו. בן ארבעים ושש בנפלו. הוא נטמן בבית העלמין בלוד. הותיר אחריו אישה ותשעה ילדים.
