Turai Moshe Shoval Shaabli served in the Israel Defense Forces. Moshe served with the Infantry. Moshe served in the Six-Day War. Moshe was 28 years old.
Son of Yechiya and Rivka. Born on 1 Kislev 5699 (24.11.1938) in Jerusalem.
He began his studies at the Talmud Torah of the Mizrachi movement, and afterwards moved to Moshav Hulda and was educated in agriculture in the youth group there. He earned his living as a member of Egged, at the HaMekasher company.
In October 1955 he was drafted into the IDF, and after his discharge from the army he went out for reserve duty from time to time. Before the Six-Day War too he was called to the colors, and he was a good soldier who carried out all that was assigned to him.
On the third day of the battles, 28 Iyar 5727 (7.6.1967), he fell at Tzur Baher in Jerusalem, when he drove onto a mine. He left a wife and a son.
After his fall he was commended "for displaying courage and exemplary volunteering while caring for the lives of his comrades," and the deed was described as follows: On 5 June 1967 the enemy heavily shelled the mortar position at Camp Allenby. In that area stood a vehicle full of explosives, a hit on which would have caused death and destruction in the area. Moshe jumped into the vehicle and, at the risk of his life, drove it and took it out of the shelled area. By this act he prevented possible harm to his comrades. But two days later Moshe fell when he drove a jeep mounted with a recoilless rifle onto a mine; this was, as stated, at Tzur Baher.
He was brought to his eternal rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. The Egged company established a library in his memory.
