Turai Pinhas Shwartz served in the Israel Defense Forces. Pinhas served with the Armored Corps. Pinhas served in the War of Independence.
בן דבורה וחיים-יצחק, נולד בשנת 1927 בעיר ביקסד, רומניה. בתקופת מלחמת-העולם השנייה, כאשר הנאצים השתלטו על רומניה, נלקח פינחס בשנת 1944 למחנה הריכוז אושוויץ והוא נער בן 17. בתום המלחמה חזר לעיר הולדתו אך לא מצא בה את בני משפחתו. פינחס החליט לעלות לארץ-ישראל ואכן נדד מרומניה בדרכי אירופה עד הגיעו לארץ. מיד עם בואו ארצה התגייס לפלמ"ח, שירת בחטיבת הנגב והשתתף בקרבות בנגב. בעת מבצע "יואב" לפריצת הדרך לנגב תקף גדודו את המערך המצרי באזור עיראק אל-מנשיה. הגדוד נתקל בכוחות אויב עדיפים ונאלץ לסגת. בקרב זה נפל, ביום י"ג בתשרי תש"ט (16.10.1948). ביום ו' בתשרי תש"י (29.9.1949) הובא למנוחת-עולמים בקבר-אחים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בנחלת יצחק.
