Samal Simcha Leini served in the Israel Defense Forces. Simcha served with the C4i Corps. Simcha was 19 years old.
בת מסעודה ומשה, נולדה ביום כ"ה בשבט תש"ך (23.2.1960) בעכו. שמחה הייתה בת למשפחה שעלתה מאלג'יר. היא השלימה בית-ספר יסודי בעכו. בתקופה זו, גילתה שמחה כשרונות לריקוד ונשלחה לחוג מקומי לבלט. היא המשיכה ללמוד בבית-הספר החקלאי בנהלל. במרס 1978, התגייסה שמחה לצה"ל. היא עברה קורסים מקצועיים בטלפונאות ובפקידות, והוצבה בתפקיד מרכזנית ביחידת חיל-רגלים. במהלך שירותה התקדמה שמחה: בדצמבר 1978 הועלתה לדרגת רב"ט, אבל מילאה תפקיד בתקן של סמ"ר. במאי 1979 היא חלתה במחלה ממארת, ואושפזה בבתי-חולים. היא נפטרה במחלתה ביום ט"ז באלול תשל"ט (8.9.1979). בת 19 שנים הייתה שמחה במותה. שמחה הובאה למנוחות בבית-הקברות הצבאי בנהריה. היא השאירה אחריה הורים, שש אחיות ושלושה אחים. אחרי מותה, היא הועלתה לדרגת סמל. מפקד יחידתה כתב עליה במכתב תנחומים למשפחתה: "שמחה הייתה סמל ומופת בפלוגת הקשר. בכל אשר נגעה ועשתה הייתה לדוגמה ולמופת, ביעילותה וביוזמתה".
