What Happened

בן ליבה ויהודה, נולד ביום כ' באב תרפ"ד (20.8.1924) בפולין בגורליצה שבגליציה המערבית. הוא טעם את הטעם המר של הגזירות שנגזרו על היהודים בתקופת מלחמת-העולם השנייה, עד ששוחרר עם שארית הפליטה ושאף לעלות לציון. נדודי הבריחה וההעפלה שלו ארכו מאוד, אך בזמן הקצר מאז בואו לראשון לציון ועד להתגייסותו - בין הראשונים במושבה - קנה לו חברים וחברות, שמצאוהו נאמן ומסור וטוב-לב. זאב היה חייל בחטיבת "גבעתי", נלחם בקרבות בדרום הארץ ונפל ביום ב' באייר תש"ח (11.5.1948), בכיבוש הכפר הערבי בשיט, ליד יבנה-בית דראס. הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בראשון לציון.
