Turai Haim Knafo served in the Israel Defense Forces. Haim served with the Technological and Maintenance Corps. Haim served in the War of Attrition. Haim was 19 years old.
בנם-בכורם של יעקב ופרחה. נולד ביום כ"א בכסלו תש"ט (23.12.1948) במרוקו. המשפחה עלתה לארץ בשנת 1956 והתיישבה בנתיבות שבנגב. את לימודיו היסודיים סיים בבית הספר "נתיב יצחק" שבעיירה ולאחר מכן המשיך ללמוד בישיבת "תורה ומלאכה" בנתיבות. אחרי ארבע שנות לימודים, בהן הצטיין, עבר ללמוד בסמינר למורים בירושלים. אחרי שנתים של לימודים בסמינר נשלח להורות באילת. בספטמבר 1968 גויס לצה"ל, אך פעם, בשעת מילוי תפקידו, ביום ד' במרחשון תשכ"ט (26.10.1968) נפל בתעלת סואץ. הובא למנוחת עולמים בבית הקברות בנתיבות. לזכרו הוקם בנתיבות בית נוער הנקרא "בית חיים" ובית כנסת בשם "אהבת חיים". חוברת לזכרו הוצאה לאור על ידי חבריו ללימודים בנתיבות.
