Rav Samal Bakhir Saliman Avida served with the Border Patrol Police. Saliman served in the First Intifada and the South Lebanon Security Zone.
בן פרידה ופארס. סלימאן נולד בכפר הדרוזי סאג'ור שבגליל ביום 25.9.1939. הוא גדל והתחנך בכפרו. בשנת 1956 התגייס סלימאן לצה"ל. שנה לאחר מכן נפצע בתקרית בגבול ירדן ואושפז בבית חולים "סורוקה" בבאר שבע. במאי 1963 התגייס סלימאן לשירות קבע במשמר הגבול והוצב במג"ב ירושלים, שם נשאר לשרת עד יום מותו. במהלך שירותו מילא מגוון תפקידים שהיו כרוכים במאמץ פיזי וניהולי רב, ואת כולם ביצע ברצון ובהצלחה מרובה. סלימאן נישא למשיחה והקים איתה בית בסאג'ור. נולדו לו חמישה-עשר ילדים, שנים-עשר בנים ושלוש בנות. הוא היה מחנך ומטפל, ודאג מכל הלב לילדיו כמו גם לשוטריו בבסיס. היה איש חברה שאהב את הזולת, רחש כבוד לאחרים ואף זכה לו בעצמו. סלימאן היה אוהד ספורט מושבע. ביום 12.11.1988 נפטר רב-סמל בכיר סלימאן אחרי מחלה. בן ארבעים ותשע בנפלו. הוא נטמן בבית העלמין בסאג'ור. הותיר אישה וחמישה-עשר ילדים.
