What Happened

Cpl Glen A. Myers attended college and was a smith before he joined the Regular Army in Presidio of Monterey, California on 14 December 1943. | | Sgt Walter J. Antczak: | On the morning of 25 July 1944 on a raid over Linz, Austria, ship #529 and its crew flying off our right wing was hit by enemy fighters and burst into flames. It peeled off to the left and going over on his back headed earthward in a mass of flames. This was the last I saw of them. I was in the nose turret when it all happened and as far as I know no parachutes were seen. | | S/Sgt Manly K. Fisher: | I think he collapsed and died in the plane.
