Private Joseph John Brzezicki served in the U.S. Army. Joseph served in World War II. Joseph was the parent of one child. Joseph was 36 years old.
Pvt Joseph J. Brzezicki immigrated from Poland in December 1913. He was employed at Sylvania Industrial Corp. He enlisted on 22 December 1943. | | According to investigation conducted between members of his unit, shortly after Pvt Brzezicki went missing, he was last seen going to the rear with combat exhaustion. At that time his unit was in Luxembourg, but according to reports however, he was seen for the last time in Florenville. | | Later, when a new investigation was considered, it was found that all witnesses of the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Pvt Brzezicki were killed in action in the Hürtgen Forest or in the Ardennes campaign. | | A field investigation was conducted in the area where he was last seen, and the route that is believed that he would have taken was also checked, all with negative results. Attempts to associate unknowns recovered from the general area have also been negative. | | From these facts and the lack of evidence that Pvt Brzezicki became a prisoner of war and also the lack of any record that he was hospitalized, it can only be concluded that he met his death in a manner unknown, and his remains were disposed by a person or persons in a manner and location, which precludes recovery. | | For these reasons he was declared officially dead one day and one year after he was reported missing in action.
