9/11 Responders Remembered Park

Granite walls six feet high in a public park in Nesconset, with COURAGE, HONOR, AND SACRIFICE etched across the top. It carries everyone who worked the pile and later died of it - police and fire, Port Authority, court officers, sanitation workers, ironworkers, electricians, construction and Verizon crews, volunteers, the responders no department claims. Dedicated on 10 September 2011. Of the walls that hold this day, it is the only one anybody can simply walk up to.

1 Heroes Way, Nesconset, New York.

An outdoor public park. No ticket, no gate, no controlled building - unlike the FDNY and NYPD walls, anyone can stand in front of this one. The annual naming ceremony is held here each September.
